For Southern Rock Fans

Post by bhunt1 »

I got into this band recently. They are Hydra - they put out 3 albums in the mid 70s and broke up. Their first two albums were on Capricorn and the last on Polydor. Interesting that both labels are now defunct - says something right there. Their last album Rock the World is really good. This clip is from their 2005 live reunion show, which was made into the Live After All Years album. I synced the video (which had a crappy audio) with the mp3 track from the live album. It has the 3 main original members with a new bass player. I really dig the singing by Wayne Bruce on all their stuff. He is playing guitar here but also played bass on the last album when they were are trio. This rocks - enjoy:

Good sound quality. So unusual for live recordings on YouTube! Most just use the phone mic for the audio--yuck.

Is it just me or did the bassist look funny? Like he was backwards or something.

Yeah I synced the video to the album track - the album was recorded at this performance, you can hear him mention that at the beginning.

Oh, you did say that, sorry. I read the post at work and then watched the video several attention spans later :P
