Squier Vintage HEAVILY Modified Jazz Bass

Post by paulo »

Got this project bass off the bay, fixed the neck myself... removed the skunk stripe and welded the body end of the truss rod then put it back in and put a strip os wenge in, few coats of amber nitro gloss and few more of clear nitro gloss. Refinished the body in fiesta red and got a pickguard loaded from the Stratosphere, American Standard electronics with Fender custom shop 60's pickups. Since i am not good with electronics it was just easier to get the pickguard loaded with everything. The bridge and strap buttons came on the Squier body and the neck plate came from LeftyStephen. The logo came from Portugal for 15 bucks. Only reason i put the logo on was because the original logo was erased before.

Nice paint job! I see you have access to pro-painting tools... do you work at a body shop?
R&B Stretch Bass, Walter Woods 1000w Green-Light Stereo Amp, AccuGroove El Whappo and TR112, assorted axes, amps, cabs...

My friend is the owner so i get to sneak in a body for refinish sometimes! Sometimes it takes a while but they get done!

Well done, buddy! I love a Maple fretboard on anything!

I thought those Vintage Modified basses had the 70s pickup position (not that it matters).
