Sterling sub with nordstrand preamp

Post by Precision303 »

So I got the norstrand MM 2b preamp and I have a question. Witch wire is the lead from the pickup and witch is the ground? And how would I go about this? Have connected both and they don't work but just get a lot of buzz. The diagram is pretty simple but somehow neither will work.
Will the preamp work with my standard sub pickup? There's a black a white

I have not touched one of these in a long time but I believe that black goes to sleeve and white to tip. I memory serves me correctly they had variations of color over the years.

Typically black is ground and white is hot, but there's probably more you need to do than just hook up the pickup leads. You'll typically have to ground the preamp and run power to it.

If you don't know what you're doing, any competent repair person could get it wired up for you in less than an hour.
