G&L posted a picture of my most recent order, hopefully it doesn't hang out at the border for too long...

Boom!
In the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful...

Fender does not make a Jazz Bass with a maple neck, get a G&L and you'll get an awesome color on the top of it. I love it.

Fender's American Design Experience offers maple boards on Jazz Basses. That G&L is gorgeous. Sonic Blue is one of the coolest colors ever!

Saw that on Facebook - awesome. I have an L2500 on order, actually it just arrived at the dealer, but no pic on Facebook for mine.

For some reason I thought they had stopped the Fender American Design thing. I am glad to hear it is still happening. Hopefully they fixed this quality issue.

If only they offered jazz pickups in a P body! That would be killer!

Did you get a weight on this one? The weights on the Empress basses have been super light; that's what I'm hoping for :)

I went with Alder, I'm guessing it will come in around 8.5/9.5 lbs. I don't think I'm going to do Swamp Ash again, my SB-2 is a hair over 10lbs.

I think if I was going with an alternative wood choice, it would be a Sugar Pine LB100. I like how the brightness of a pine body works with a p-bass pickup.
