That looks great, Paulo but I would check the dates on the pots, and neck heel. Its got an 8 serial number but back then the decals were used sparingly to complete a bass. I would guess this is anywhere from 78 - 81. Its not a 77 with a "8" serial code. Regardless, this year had the good P pickup. Its overwound a little and aggressive.

Good catch!!

The pickups on it are Dimarzio DP127. Don't know much about them but sounds pretty good and the reviews are all good about it. The pots are super hard to read cause the welding is on the top of the letters but i made it, it says: M 250 KOA, 15 k right under. Maybe you guys know anything about it! I have added the photos of the neck and the pots and pickup to the album, take a look at the bottom: https://www.flickr.com/photos/paulohenr ... 047787981/

The way it's written is just like in this pic but this pic according to whoever posted it, is from a Japanese Vintage Squiers "Vintage" Made in Japan from 1982 -1984 the JV and SQ Squier Strats and Teles are some of the most popular Squiers.

Nice looking bass, Paulo. Pots are aftermarket and the neck heel... Too blurred to tell the dating code. If it sounds and plays good, that's what's most important. Great older Fender bass.

i'll stick with the 78-81 dating like you said... not a biggie for the price, still i love the way it sounds and play!
