Michael Kelly Dragonfly 5 String

Post by crabby »

For sale is my pristine Michael Kelly Dragonfly 5 string acoustic bass. This is a neat instrument. I am the second owner. It was bought new in approximately 2007 and never gigged. Has no dents, scratches, wear, damage or issues of any kind. Has Fishman electronics, 34 inch scale, Grover tuners and a equally mint fitted hard case is included. All maple body (I assume these are laminates) with a nicely finished rosewood board on the neck with some crazy inlays. She is freshly strung with new phosphor bronze D'addarios. Plays well, issues at all. Will sell for $400 plus shipping. I am located in western Canada.

The low B string is admittedly not very loud acoustically but if I was going to keep this bass, I would seriously consider stringing it from E to high C. I bet that would sound amazing.

100% agree. I think the high C would work well on an acoustic bass too, both as the higher notes transmit better acoustically and for cording.

The quilt is pristine on this one. I owned a total of 4 of these when they first came out. 1 out of 4 had flawless quilt. Grab this while you can......
