The top wood on my bass has partially detached from the body. I don't believe this!
Is this something I should get fixed or is it really nothing to worry about?

It's something I would most certainly worry about, it's a perfect place for moisture getting in there, structurally it's no problem as long as the wood stays dry.

That's nature's pick holder.
But seriously, what Blablas said. Which bass is that?

Damn....
What builder made this? Thats not good. I would def have a luthier look at it. If a warranty issue, send them email with a link to pics.
Best of luck!!

Thanks for the advice, guys!
This was made by Ray Simonetti. I don't know what year.

Looks like the joint was a bit dry there during glue-up. Shouldn't be a big deal to get fixed.

Blow it out with some air, pump some strong wood-glue in there, clamp it down with 4-5 clamps, wait a couple of days... done!

Thanks fivebass, and everyone else!
I will re-glue and clamp if needs be, but for now it seems to have closed up on its own!

You'll get vermine and roaches crawling out this if you don't glue it back
