Yes, a few were. I don't know which numbers specifically but they do exist.

Of the more recent lines, Yamaha have always offered some of the more affordable models as lefties. Models like the BBN4II, BBN5II - the only lefty 5-string BB, I think -, 404, 604, 414, 614. The 414 and 614 reintroduced the classic BB bodyshape.

There haven't been many lefties of the classic Japanese BB-series. If you have lots of patience, you may be able to find a BB1100S, BB1200 -made famous by a certain mr Paul McCartney-, BB1200S or one of the very affordable BB300's. And here's a fellow forumite who has a BB1600: http://www.leftybassist.com/viewtopic.p ... lit=yamaha
Someone here once linked to an eBay auction for a BB2000, but that must be rarer than hen's teeth. I've never seen another one like it.

I sold a BB414L and I got one back recently for $300 cdn because I missed it too much. Best bass buy for the bucks, really.

Go for those 414

The BB414 and BB614s have seemingly fallen off the face of the earth. They were pretty prevalent a few years ago but they rarely pop up these days. (Same goes for the Hamer Slammer bass. Remember when they were everywhere too?).

5 years ago paid $120 for an old entry level red BB300 in "like new" condition. Totally stock and nuke-proof construction.
Great bass and I still have it.

BB400 I bought it new in 1983 after my '75 Precision was stolen.
The bass is completely stock. A fantastic bass. Incidently it has the widest neck I've ever seen on a 4 string.

If one of you won that auction I'm mad at you. I got into a stupid argument with my co-worker regarding something not work related and missed the auction ending.

Just kidding.....well maybe half.....

I've been looking for one of those for 4 years and have only seen 2/3 come up for sale. I've been second guessing wanting one though so I guess I'm not too upset about it.
