Fender Japan Bass New Look

Post by bobjones2260 »

All, I love Fender Japan basses, I have several, the one I fixed up I got on ebay for $550, it played great but was dull looking and kinda beat, rather than getting a new bass (short on cash) I decided to fix it up. I would not do this with an American bass as I like keeping them the same as when purchased. Thanks for checking it out.

I had the body painted from Marty Bell, price was good, quality amazing and turn around less than 2 weeks http://martybellfinishing.com/

I had a pickguard from another project (I ordered two) and this Red one really popped, I got it from Tone Guard http://www.tone-guard.com/Info%20for%20 ... layer.html

I got some new Pick Ups on a great Black Friday deal, I paid $99 for this set http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Nois ... 1128136.gc

I added CTS pots with cloth wiring and added the bridge cover for that classic look. The neck and all other parts were untouched. This was a fun project and glad I did it.

Yes, the color is Daphne Blue, the camera got the color correct however the picture did not capture how nice the paint job is.

My J-Basses wear Red Tortoise (or nothing at all).
