New Status Graphite S3

Post by penguin »

New Status Graphite S3 model. It is essentially a S2 classic neck thru with an arched top. They look really nice. I want!

Very nice! :) Any price list yet? I'm not seeing it on their website.

OMG, that's a lot of control knobs on those versions with the double-J humbuckers! I've never seen that before on a Status

Rob is working on it. It seems he was planning on introducing the S3 a little bit later on, but there was a review in Bass Guitar Magazine that was published this week and so he was flooded with inquiries and it caught him off guard.

I have my S2 Classic 6 fretless and King Bass Standard 4 fretless and I have always loved the archtop feel of the King Bass. I kept thinking how great it would be to have an archtop on the S2 and now it has become a reality. I will probably try to sell both and get a S3 5 string fretless.

It's a new system called the Paramatrix and the pickups are called Bi-max. It does look overwhelming. I'd probably stick with the traditional 303 electronics since I am so used to them.
