2007 Jerzy Drozd Legend XII YC

Post by Yves Carbonne »

Ok, don't be scared :)
It's a fretless 12-string semi-acoustic midi sub-bass. From my collaboration with Jerzy Drozd.
Tuning: B (one octave below regular Low B) E A D G C F Bb Eb Ab Db Gb
I've used it in my album "A Life".
Flame maple/wenge/purple heart neck, ebony board, Spanish cedar body with spruce top, abalone purfling, RMC piezo and midi system Jerzy Drozd mag. Pick-up, custom lined, custom string spacing (17 mm at the bridge)...
The instrument is in perfect condition. I'm asking for 12000€.

Such a beautiful and innovative instrument.

I wish you good luck with the sale or make a fan real happy ;-)

It would take me a lifetime to achieve something with it LOL

Sly,
if this is the same instrument I played at NAMM two or three years ago, you would be surprised at how effortless it is to play. It is a lot less intimidating than it looks.

I had the same opinion as you when I strapped it on, but managed to crank out some riffs in no time!!

I was at Namm with this instrument in Jan. 2011 and I confirm it's very easy to play.

Incredibly beautiful, and a work of art! It would be a waste of a great bass, but it could very easily hang in a gallery at The MOMA Museum in New York....

It also gives new meaning to the phrase "walking the plank...." Arrrrrrgggg! ;)

I'm selling it because today I'm mostly playing the one I got after this one:

Oh, I'm interested. I have to run this by my wife, tough, but I need creative justifications on why buying this bass is a better idea than sending my daughter to college. . .

Beautiful bass (and all your basses, really), Yves. Incredible vision, and Jerzy has such masterful execution.

My goodness. Stunning.

I'm not sure I even fully understand what I'm looking at. How does one even reach those lower strings?
