Status Graphite S2 Headless Fretless 4 string

Post by markcv »

Hi all, you may recall this bass as I recently bought it from Penguin. It's a great bass but I'm really jonesing for a 5 or 6 string fretless. I'm missing that low B. So this one has to go so I can start getting the cash together for the next one. The bass is in exactly the same condition it is when I got it from Penguin except that I put a set of the round wounds on it and played it at home for a few hours. No gigs with guitar players knocking over amps or anything. ;)

Still has just the one ding shown in the pic.

Comes with all the stuff that I got with it. Strings, tools, Hiscox case, etc.

Lines and side LED markers. I don't think I'll let to go for any less than I paid for it.

$1000 Canadian plus shipping.

I feel ya.... if it was a 5-string, I would have bought it the first time it was offered up! :D

@ crabby: I think it's a great sounding bass. Lots of tonal variety.

@fivebass: yeah, I was thinking it was too good a price to pass up even though it WAS a 4 string. If I could afford it I would hang on to it and STILL get a 5 string fretless.

I'm really missing my F Bass BNF5 and wish I could have hung on to that. Probably gonna get another or a Pedulla Pentabuzz... or I was drooling over the Marleaux Diva. Those thing appear to be a very nice bass. However, there's something extremely cool about getting a super high quality bass made in Canada. At least for me. :)

Nice looking basses! Although I'm sure markcv's bass is way more affordable than the basses shown in the above thread!

That's a big ten four on the affordable factor. Apparently, according to notreble.com, the STREET price of the Marleaux Diva is $5,950. Supposedly that includes options and shipping. Beautiful bass, but six grand? Is it really worth $2000 more than an F Bass BNF5? IMHO NOT.

...And received! Great looking and sounding bass. I have to experiment with the many tonal settings, but at the first rehearsal yesterday I managed to get the typical Status sound!
Many thanks to Mark / markcv for taking care of everything including shipping with TNT, and especially for the excellent communication via email and Facebook! Mark, it was a real pleasure doing business with you!
Best regards - Ken
