Okay, looks like I can only have 3 attachments per post so I'll try to post the last 2 pictures in a reply to this post.

Great collection. :D That '73 J with the rosewood neck/block inlays is super rare, not to mention the BC Rich Eagle, which is one of my all-time favorite basses.

Just curious how you came by the BC Rich... I once played one like this that was being sold by World Class Guitars out of Las Vegas, and that was way back in 2002 or so...
R&B Stretch Bass, Walter Woods 1000w Green-Light Stereo Amp, AccuGroove El Whappo and TR112, assorted axes, amps, cabs...

to the OP:
you ever hear of a lefty bassist in your neck of the woods that went by the name of 'Johnny Stugg'? I know he used to live in the Toronto area at one point and I think he moved up to your neck of the woods.

Love that '73 BTW!

Agreed. That's one hell of a bass reflex port on top of that thing.
Nice collection! Love the Jazz and the Eagle.

Thanks everyone!

I've had the 73 Jazz since 1975 - it was my first real bass.

fivebass52 - I got the 79 Eagle in 1988 - bought it from Long and McQuades in Toronto. It was my main player until I got the Carvin B50 a few years ago.

Sadly, neither of the first two get much use these days. The 73 jazz will probably be with me for life but I've seriously thought about selling the Eagle, lately.

AzWhoFan - I haven't heard the name before but I've only been in the area since 2004 and it's a bit of a wasteland up hear when it comes to meeting other musicians.

Oh and the Napoleon might make a good practice amp but I don't think I'll be gigging with it any time soon ;)

slightly off topic but I found him on FB! He's now in Alberta. Should he respond to my friend request I'll be sure to let him know about our little corner of the world.

My crystal ball suggests a possible bidding war in the near future :)

Seriously though, as soon as I get a little more comfortable with the idea of selling a bass over the internet, I'll post some more detailed pictures of the Eagle.

Maybe you guys can point me to some threads discussing how to sell (payment options, shipping, insurance, etc). I have zero experience with this sort of thing. I bought a guitar through ebay/paypal and that worked out okay but I don't really want to sell on ebay.

Thanks,
Neil

This forum is a great place to sell or buy basses - I just sold a G&L L2000, and have sold two other basses in the past. People here really know their stuff, so price it right and disclose everything (which is a good idea anyway of course), and it will work out fine. I always use Paypal because of the tracking of transactions and the ability to challenge fraud, which honestly I haven't had here or on ebay, but it certainly can happen. For international shipping, I learned here to use the US Postal Service Priority Mail International, it's the cheapest. When shipping I always get insurance on the value of the bass, just in case. Just my 2 cents :)

bhunt1 - thanks for the info. Very helpful. I think coming up with a correct valuation for the eagle will be one of the hard things.

:o  :o

Color me jealous...

I've been looking for a decent '73 Jazz for a really long time... it's the year I was born, and I've always wanted one.

Anyway, if you ever need to sell that one for any reason, please consider me to be on that list.

F Bass BN5 • ZON Legacy Elite 5 • ZON Sonus Elite 5 Fretless • ZON Sonus BG5 • Fender Custom Shop '64 NOS Jazz • Fender Custom Shop '75 NOS Jazz • Fender ADE Precision • Music Man SR4

Addison - I'm not sure I would class it as a "decent" bass anymore. I got the bass when I was very young and very stupid. If I'd taken proper care of it over the years it probably would be a decent player but these days it has neck issues and is missing some of the original parts (tuners, neck pickup, ashtray). The truss rod is pretty much maxed out and I set the action fairly high just to make it playable. I suppose if I could restore all the original parts it would be have some appeal to a collector.
