In my opinion it sound will be a little different.

given that no two basses of the same brand and model sound precisely identical ...
should you actually hear a difference, it would be difficult to determine if the sound was due to the neck mass difference, the body wood difference (characteristic difference range within the wood species), or a combination of all of the above
in the context of a live playing scenario, I doubt that anybody in the crowd (even a fellow bassist) would actually hear the difference within the context of the mix. I'm sure you could same the same for a contextual discernment within a studio mix
