I was born in MTL, lived in many suburbs, then settled down in Dorval till '80, and was back and forth between MTL and the rest of the country until '90 when I emigrated to the U.S.

Was the toaster neck pickup added later, or did these come stock on the 2004 model? I thought 4003's always had the hi-gain pickups in both positions.

This bass is stock. I comes with two sets of knobs, vintage and regular.

Sincerely, i'm not a Ric expert, so I don't really know all the stories and evolution of these basses. i just know that this is an instrument in great condition, almost like new.

Very strange, unless this is a custom order, 4003s should have both hi-gain on the neck and on the bridge.

Anyway a toaster is always welcome in the neck position !!

If you say so ;-) I'm not aware of all models that Ric offered. But from what you are saying, it seems more like the Cheyenne model that is for sale here, isn't it?

As far as I know, most ric I have seen has the toaster and the single-coil at the bridge.

But if you want to educate me on the ric basses, feel free to do so, I'm all ears-open ;-)

I wish I could buy this one. It's just a little risky to pay 2500$ for something that has to be shipped all the to Belgium. It's a lot of money. But I would drive 1000km to go pick up a bass like that...

i did send few basses to Belgium without problem.
I did receive a bass from Slovakia few weeks ago.
I did ship a bass to China also.

There is a good international postage sevice with EMS for really cheap compare to UPS and others.

I'm not trying to twist your arm though ;-)

But I can assure you that this bass is in great shape.
