It looks like this is mine!

There was an E serial that ended last week without a case (it was white and had a tort pick guard) it sold for $890. I got this at a stupid low price point because the seller didn't name it correctly. I am very happy at the moment, I will let you all know what my thoughts are on this bass and what comes of the rest of the story. I know one person on this form isn't a fan of MIJ basswood basses, but I am going to see what it is like before I judge. Let me know what you all think. Cheers.

Nice deal! I have 2 white/tort late 80's MIJ Jazzes and I love em. Basswood sounds great to me. And to my band, too. I've been playing a SR5 exclusively since I joined the band. Recently I busted out the Jazz. My singer has dubbed it 'The Thunder'!

It came via UPS today. I REALLY got stung on the cost at the door for tax and brokerage fees, but it is in great shape. It came with a hard shell case and there is no damage on the body. It has been sitting under his bed for the last 25 years. It needs new strings and a setup, I am going to leave it stock until I get to test drive it. If I don't like it at that point I will replace things that can be changed without modification. Stay tuned, possibly more to come. Cheers.

UPDATE

Post by kosmicwizard »

I just went down to pick up this bass from having it setup. It is awesome! It is very resonant when played unplugged and punchy as hell compared to my P when played through an amp. The neck is so thin and fast! I love playing it and will practice more often now that I am this happy with how it feels. I don't like the sound of the bridge pickup soloed, but I am happy with how it sounds with either the neck pup soloed or both together. Have a good day all! Talk to you later. Cheers.
