For Sale: Lefty Hoyer Explorer Bass

Post by Rockbass »

Hi,

I want to sell my Hoyer Exlorer Bass.
The Bass is from the 80s, when Hoyer was famous for high quality intruments made in Germany.
And this bass is made in germany and not made in asia.

I don't know the body or neck wood.
It has a active 2-band EQ. I think boost only. And 2 volume knobs.
There are two OBL Pickups (by Bill Lawrence) humbuckers.

Neck-thu with a solid black and white finish. The white is more like a vintage white.

This Hoyer is not like new. It was played a lot and is a pure stage-instrument.
So there are many dings and scratches.

High-res pics and soundfiles on request.

This bass is located in germany, but I will ship worldwide.
Price: 900 euro + shipping

Awesome looking bass. Visions of Rudy Sarzo dancing through my head. ;)

Did Hoyer copied from Aria or Aria from Hoyer? ;)

Originally the explorer design is from Gibson in 1958. :geek:
Anyway I saw some diagonal stripes often on 80s Explorers.

But a lefty explorer very rare indeed. 8-)

I want to sell it, because it isn't my main intrument and I think this should be played on stage.

I can also think about trade with an fender precision or fender shortscale

I lower the price to 700 euro.

Because of the shape of the body, the Explorer is much longer than a usual longscale bass.
So the shipping costs are really expensive. :?
