My Manne endorsment

Post by Polymad »

5 string Trea custom and a Newport AXS custom fretless: the individual shots were taken by Andrea Ballarin (Luthier) before he installed the finger ramps on them. They sound unbelievable!

I especially like the grain on the second one. Is that the fretless? Great looking basses.

Cool! I've always been intrigued by these instruments. I like the body shape, and especially like their Soulmover/Newport model. That 3 PUP model looks great. Does Manne only offer lefties by custom order or do they offer lefties generally? I don't think I'll be able to afford one anytime soon, but I'd be curious about their cheaper "ManneDesign" line and whether or not lefties are available.

Hi pjmuck,

To answer your question, all of Manne's instruments are hand built. the only production line models are the "Mannedesign" instruments. As far as left handed models are concerned, you will have to place an order and there is a charge for that too. I know they are very expensive basses and I was fortunate enough to receive a trade endorsement with them. But to be honest, they are well worth every penny and Andrea Ballarin, the luthier, is one of the easiest and nicest guys to work with. He built my trea model from scratch to finish in 3 weeks!! my fretless in 2 weeks!!

Honestly, the guy pays an immense amount of attention to what he builds along with your needs and wants on the instrument. I am not just saying this because I'm endorsed, but because I have had a few endorsements in the past and they were not even remotely close to the treatment nor the quality of Manne.

I am truly proud and honored for this.

Take care

Wow congrats,

They look beautiful.

How's the sound of the fretted bass with 3 PU? Is it useful? Worth it? , Too complicated?

Thanks,

Sly
