Please say hello
Re: Please say hello
Good morning!(5:20 am in Florida) Just signed on as I just discovered this website last night! AWESOME! We now have our own club (as it were) . Whom ever started this a huge thank-you! I was actually starting to feel the "sting" of right vs left bass discrimination. So again a gigantic thanx from me. I willl be soliciting advice from this "room" as I am taking the plunge to have a custom made bass in the future and have a ton of questions.
Re: Please say hello

Welcome on board! We have all felt the discrimination for a long time...Together we can have more weight to change this.
Maybe Andrew or Peter can remind everyone how it all started?Whom ever started this a huge thank-you!

Hi Everyone
I have been lurking on this site for like three and a half years, but always was on the move, and never had any money, and basically was too lazy too register. I've been watching these awesome basses come and go for so long, it seems. This is a great site though. I've learned quite a bit from it. I also appreciate how sellers sometimes put it up for sale here before ebay so us true lefties a shot at it first. This seems like a true player's forum.
Anyways, hello from Buffalo NY

I always give the locals a crack at my gear here first before I list it anywhere else. Frankly, I'd just plain rather see someone here get it who I "know," rather than someone else who might not really appreciate it... it just feels right to do it that way.
Anyway... welcome!

Greeting FRO from Buffalo, you gonna get some snow today? I'm in Pittsburgh, and we got a LOT of rain yesterday almost 3 inches, but the front moved thru and the snow flurries it left behind are falling

I feel for you in Pitt and Buffalo, I grew up in Minnesota.(thus the Florida address). I am still a trucker,I just don't go where it snows. Fla to Ga to Ca and back. I have found two Luthiers I really like. Stambaugh designs and Daniel Fernandez via The low end shop in Tenn. Any thoughts? any advice?

Hi lucky7, nice to have you here. I recommend starting a thread in the bass section regarding these two builders, I'm sure you'll find some people here familiar with their work.lucky7 wrote:I feel for you in Pitt and Buffalo, I grew up in Minnesota.(thus the Florida address). Been here for a year or so... love the site, nice to know that there are quite a few other lefties out there. I've only been playing for about 2 years and am still learning... driving the family nuts sometimes but it's fun for me.
thanks,

Speaking of driving the folks nutz, i can relate (as I'm sure most of us can) ... I used to drive my mother insane in the pre-digital age whilst learning how to play all of Live at Leeds from a dinky mono phonograph (remember those?) for countless hours on end.

Being a lefty is like being a diabetic kid in a candy store. So many incredible things, but you cant touch any of it
I play an F bass BN5 (soon to be BN7) and a Conklin GT7 7 string.
