New Eastwood Classic 4 lefty

Post by pjmuck »

I just got a newsletter from Michael at Eastwood, and he said the Eastwood Classic 4 basses are now being offered lefty and are shipping within the next 2 months. This bass is the Gretsch Broadkaster/Guild Starfire styled hollowbody. So far, only the walnut finish is being offered, but I'm inquiring about the other 2 finishes (white and orange). Check out:

I like the the huge photo! :D

I have no love for short scale basses but I may need to get one of these just on looks alone. I really dig the walnut finish. Do have a price on these Peter?

If Eastwood made a long scale version of this bass I'd be in love.

Before I got laid off I knew I was gonna sell my Mesa, because my band was doing mostly outdoor gigs. I had a Yamaha preamp, so I looked around for an inexpensive power amp. My 2nd favorite local store had a Crown XLS 402 for $200, so I agreed to go in at the end of the month and get it. When I got there, I saw a righty version of that bass on the wall, and it was so freaking awesome looking I really thought it was a Gretsch! It played and sounded good, too! This is good news!

Here's an update I just received:

The bass will be shipping in 3 weeks. It will only come in the walnut finish, so I guess my dream of owning a Gretsch White Falcon bass or facsimile thereof will have to wait. The good news: price is same as righties, $499 + $49 shipping within US, excluding case. The cases are listed at $99 direct but it also says to e-mail or call to confirm pricing for each model specified so I'm not sure on the case price. But all told, I think we're looking at $650 door to door with case.
