NAMM 2011 - a sneak peek

Post by Rodent »

thought you might enjoy a couple sneak peek images of what I'll be packing to NAMM this Jan. at least one of the basses I'll have images of in this thread will make it ... maybe more

here's an M-Series righty 5-string that I'm working while the CA glue from another project dries. this is Western Maple burl on a 1-piece Swamp Ash body. it'll be joined together with a AAA Birdseye / Pau Ferro neck

cio for now ...

thought you might also like a peek at the neck that will accompany this bass at NAMM ... the bottom neck in these two images is the one 8-)

both of these are AAA Birdseye / Pau Ferro, but the bottom one has some nice heartwood mineral stains that go well with the Maple burl IMO. the Pau Ferro will also darken up quite a bit when it gets the penetrating oil finish applied after the Birdseye has been sprayed with a clear satin finish

all the best,

Hi Rod,
are you sharing booth space at NAMM or shelling out the big bucks to have your own booth?

I'm definitely not yet able to fork out the $5K - $7K gross for a 10x10 square in the small pavillion

one of my suppliers was gracious enough to extend an offer to hang a bass or two in their booth. a BIG thank you to this supplier for allowing me to take my first baby steps towards participating in this event

all the best,

Please tell me you're bringing a lefty, Rod. I'm sure there are more than a few here who'd love to experience one of your creations first-hand.

I am planning to bring a lefty, the difficult decision is whether to make a lefty M-Series 4 or 5 or to bring a Heritage Tribute '55.

today I'm leaning towards the HT '55 as I'm certain to have this wrapped-up in time to ship ...

all the best,
