Left handed Fender American Standard Jazz Bass w/Upgrades

Post by gravesbass »

I have a 9.9/10 new condition lightly played USA 2009 Fender American Standard Passive Jazz Bass for sale. I added a WD Black/White/Black pick-guard and pan pot replacing the 2 volumes. I prefer it better this way. The tone knob is wired reversed (righty) for a perfectly smooth taper. Much better than stock. The volume pot is the stock 250k CTS Fender pot and works perfectly. The black pick-guard gives the bass a more vintage look and I have the original tortoise still with the clear coat sticker on it.. unused that will be included in the sale. I got this bass new near 6 months ago and thinning the herd again to pay off some bills of another bass being built. This bass is a great passive bass and zero fret wear and a perfect neck. The bass will be shipped in a heavy duty leather gig bag and hard wax coated shipping box. The tools will also be included. Roll the neck pickup off with tone backed off and you can get that tight barky Jaco tone with ease.

$870.00 plus actual shipping to Lower48 USA Preferred. I have a FedEX account and use it for all my bass shipping. This bass will not disappoint. If I didn't owe $1200.00 more dollars, it would not be up for sale. I'll get more pics up soon. Here is one I have locally of the body with black pick-guard. Street is $1250.00 new. This bass is virtually new condition.

That's a gorgeous instrument, shame I have no money! I'm guessing that's a poly finish, right? What does the second volume do if the first pans between the two pups?

On a 2 pickups bass you can either have 1 tone pot and one volume pot for each pickup (as it is usually on a Jazz Bass) or 1 tone pot, 1 volume pot and 1 pan pot to change the mix of the 2 pickups. Interestingly, the pickups don't mix exactly the same way when it is wired that way and it sounds a little different than the traditional wiring. The transition between pickup configurations seems more progressive.

Great bass Jim!

VOL / PAN / TONE.

The volume is progressive and pan pans between both pups. The volume per pup is a little different than the traditional VOL/VOL setup but I blend center (both pups on) most of the time and roll back or forth from neck to bridge pup. It works pretty well and a simple fix of a VOL pot can bring back to standard. This bas weighs a hair under 9lbs.

Just an FYI: The bass will be back to stock VOL/VOL/TONE as of Wednesday. I am having my luthier install the original 250k VOL Pot so it will work like new.

The bass is back to stock configuration with VOL/VOL/TONE. Fender 250k CTS Pots. The original tortoise pick-guard is also included and still has factory clear protectant on it. Never used. Here are some new shots.
