Found this one on Gbase a few days ago and saw it was available locally in Brooklyn. I got it for $450 out the door with case. Amazing bass, and I see why people rave about the early MIJ BB series Yamahas. Built like a tank, neck thru with 3 band active EQ and active/passive switch. Feels a lot like a Spector. Made famous by Peter Hook of New Order and Paul McCartney (briefly). This one's pretty rare, as I've only seen 1 other lefty 1200S, and even rarer considering it's in forest green, which apparently used to be emerald green but the finish has darkened and developed some odd blotchiness to it so it looks like camouflage now, which looks cool in it's own right.
Just what I needed, another bass!

That looks nice! I've always wanted a natural finish one of these, I'm a big Peter Hook fan.

I love those, too. Yamaha is one of my favorite brands besides Fender.

Apparently he likes to gut out the Yamaha electronics and put them in his hollowbodies - to get "That Sound". http://www.eccleshallguitars.co.uk/335bass.htmlMade famous by Peter Hook of New Order

Cool bass, congrats!
I love my '83 BB400 and have always lusted over the neck-throughs.
