Post subject:  Valenti SMJ-5 for sale! super light Swamp ash, 3A birdseye

Selling my Valenti SMJ5 left handed 5 string bass. Asking $1500 shipped or best reasonable offer. This model would cost at least $2700 new based on Valenti's website.

Specs are below:

SMJ5 #082

Swamp Ash Body

Black Finish

Graphite reinforced 3A BE Maple Neck

3A Birdseye Maple fretboard

1 7/8" @ Nut, 12" Radius, 34" Scale

Aguilar OBP-1 Preamp w/VTC

EMG 40J pickups

Black Hardware

HipShot B style Bridge

19mm string spacing

HipShot UltraLite Tuning Gears

Weight: 8.4 lbs

This model (now called the M21-J) starts at $2700 today, and I'm sure there would be an upcharge for the 3a Birdseye neck.

If you're unfamiliar with Valenti basses they are made by a former builder at Sadowsky and are every bit as good. Nino builds them the same way he did for Sadowsky, ordering parts, bodies, and necks from the same suppliers, and having them finished by the same company. This is the best 5 string I've ever owned, hands down. I'd go far as to say this is probably the best bang for your buck in a left handed 5 string available on the used market right now. Top quality materials, top quality parts, and top quality build. I get compliments on the tone every time I play it. The only reason I'm selling it is because I've finally realized I'm just more comfortable on a four string.

Things I love about this bass: THE TONE!!! it sounds so good. Also, that 3a Birdseye maple neck is beautiful. And it feels great, nice shape, satin finish. This is also one of the lightest 5 strings I've owned. I had an old Modulus that might have been a hair lighter. It's super comfortable to play.

Condition: Over all pretty good for a 12 year old bass. There are some swirlies and such in the finish on the body, as well as 1 chip on the edge of the body near the arm contour. It's 5-6mm long. There's a little bit of wear in the finish on the bridge where the brass shows through. Other than that it's in great shape. All controls work as they should, tuners work great, etc.

Includes a TKL Zero Gravity case. The case is pretty beat up, but fully functional

Message me for more pics, it's a pain to add them here.

Thats funny, I don't know I bought it from someone here either! It's a killer bass, and I'd love to see it go to someone here. If anyone is interested please reach out. I'm open to reasonable offers.

Dropped the price a bit. $1350 obo shipped in the US. Buyers from other locations are welcome, but we’ll have to work out the shipping cost.

Price dropped to the $1000 it sold for on eBay. We can figure out the shipping. I'd love for someone here to grab it and save me the fees.
