I'm still thinking about it - it's so tempting! My favorite bassist plays a non-reverse T-bird but it never occurred to me that I could ever get one because they don't make them leftie. I just wish we could get an actual price for cost and shipping not just an estimate. I think it would help out a lot of people on the board.

I agree that it is making people a bit shy to pull the trigger, not knowing exactly what you're on the hook for. The estimate cost is reasonable enough that I can live with it, but still, it'd be more comfortable knowing the actual cost.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go ahead and ask to be counted out until there is a final price for the instrument, shipping, and optional case. Once that's all set in stone I will probably opt back in.

Hi Iome,

I'd like one of these beauties. As far as I read it, it's about 160 Euro + shipping.

I need a version with 2 PUs and maybe without any finish (natural) and black pickguard, but I'd take the honeyburst version aswell.

Can they tell you the price, if we'd take 20 pcs.?

greetings

christian

hi all,

i am also interessted in this bass.

But first of all, i want to know is:

What options/colors a possible?
Only these at http://www.bachmusik.com/c211/model-th/ just lefthanded?

So is black with 2 PUs possible?

And what is the exact price?

How long would it approx last to build them? few months, half a year, a year,...

I think it is a very good idea, to gather some leftys to get a lefty bass from a manufacturer.

I've got a few answers from Roman tonight.
The price of the bass will be 198€ plus shipping and bank fees.
He didn't give me a shipping quote although i've asked him several times.

Last time the other birds shipped in Europe for 20€, but i don't remember the quote for the USA (i think around 100-120€).

He told me it would be cheaper if the US buyers had them all shipped together, but i believe that's not possible.
He also suggested to ship to someone who's got a company so he could ship them "over custom" and pull off the VAT, the bass would then cost 170€, but i think you'd have to pay VAT in the States.

The basses comes without a top of other woods.
I'll keep asking for more details, hang on lads

Alright so that comes to $270.60 US for the bass, plus an average of about $150.00 US shipping. Customs charged me $75 for my imported Jag, so that's a good base number. In total it will most likely come to around $495. Even with shipping, that's a pretty good price. It's tough finding new basses here in the US for that price, and from what I hear the Bachbird is a pretty good instrument.

Thanks for getting those figures, Iome! My funds are still a bit tight, but I still definitely want to be a part of this. I'll let you know in a couple days if I can swing it.

+1, and going back to 1 instead of 2 because of some other upcoming expenses.

Import duties should be 8% of the purchase price. Which should be closer to $21 rather than $75. every $$ helps!

Looking at my finances, with my taxes already done and a nice return on the way I should be able to afford the Bachbird no problem. So count me back in for a Honeyburst 2 pup. Especially if the customs bill is only $21 instead of $75. I didn't know it was supposed to be a percentage of purchased price.

I'm starting this new thread to see if we can gather the requested number of purchasers this year.
You can see the bass here: http://www.bachmusik.com/c211/model-th/
For those who doesn't now the bass, it's all mahogany with an Artec Alnico pickup. Those who have already bought the first run of righties are impressed of the quality of the instrument.
The price will not be the same as on their homepage, Roman from Bach told me: "That current price is the correct one but . . . .
I think if You are able to gather 20 guys and to vouch for taking of all basses
You can get a very similar price to the old one."

The old one was 160€

Current purchasers are:
Me +1 -- Trans. Red
AustinLeftyBass +1--White
Basshappi +1 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U.
pjmuck +1-- Sonic blue (2nd Trans Red) -- 2 P.U.
andrew +1 -- Honeyburst -- 2 P.U.
Carmine +1 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U.
reynoldbot +1 -- Honeyburst -- 2 P.U.
jeroen +1(mb. 2) -- White -- 2 P.U.
Rush +1 -- Trans Red -- 2 P.U.
Matt R +1 -- Sonic blue
Malfunct8 +1 -- Honeyburst -- 2 P.U.

Thunder +1 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U.
Nilezd +1 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U.
saf +2 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U. / Sonic blue -- 1 P.U.
baronvonballad +1 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U.
ratsla +1 -- Honeyburst -- 1 P.U.
jetluz666 +1 -- Honeyburst -- 2 P.U.
Others +1 -- Trans. Red -- 2 P.U.

I'm surprised Arni hasn't put his name in for one of these.

I can't speak for Arni, but it seems like he prefers to collect vintage or higher end stuff.
