I must admit, I wasn't a fan of this color option, but seeing it assembled now (and on someone else's J bass post) it looks killer! Now I'm really undecided.

FYI... I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news, but this is the guy who spearheaded the ADE.

http://www.vintageguitar.com/17266/fend ... to-retire/

Being a lefty, I'm inherently a pessimist... so I can only imagine that this could mean bad news for the ADE program. CEOs don't normally resign when things are awesome and their ideas are beloved.

Anyone who has been on the fence about ordering might want to consider making the move sooner than later.

Wow... pathetic.

I guess if Fender is looking for any evidence as to why they've treated us like shit for the last 30 years, that's enough to close the case.

If it helps, I will be putting in my order for my second ADE bass... pretty weird to think that I'll be making up 20% of the total lefty bass sales. :|

I imagine Fender will pull the plug on lefties offered in the ADE in 3... 2... 1...

:?

You'll be bringing it in to double digits at least

That sounds really low, but before we can put that into context: how many righties were sold?

This is a very good point. Given how many options righties already have in the regular Fender lineup, it's not inconceivable that the righty to lefty ratio is still good.

It wasn't really on my radar to be honest.

Edit: but that probably is a good point, I agree

Indeed, the comments on TB regarding this program were mostly negative (are we surprised?) precisely due to the limited choices and options compared to what is already available.

I can't imagine Fender got a rush of righty orders. Since we previously established lefties were 1% of the bass market, in theory, that would be around 1,000 orders but keeping in mind this program is less appealing for a right-handed players, my estimation would be between 200 to 300 orders so far. I take bets.

In my case, I am afraid I will have to miss this opportunity :( and unfortunately I don't expect this program to last much.

Anyone who wants something else than Black, Blue, Red, Sunburst with Rosewood neck and can afford to buy now should jump on it.

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but where did Fender (or whomever) publish this statistic?

They didn't. I called yesterday and asked them

Wow - I can't believe you a) found someone to tell you on the phone, and b) were so forthright about what must be dissapointing sales figures for them.

Yeah I had to call yesterday and make sure my build was being done right. Mine is going to be a jazz bass.
They sent me a book and a letter saying thanks for purchasing a Precision Bass. So I panicked and had to be sure that it was just a typo, which it was. Anyway, I just used the occasion to try and gather a little intel.

I really wish I could order one but money is tight right now because of unexpected taxes owed to Uncle Sam. This is definitely on my radar and I can only hope it's still available when I'm ready to order. It's a chance I have to take. I can't be financially irresponsible. In the meantime, it would be interesting to know right-handed orders as a comparison, but regardless, I hope Fender would understand that introducing new options like American Design Creations will/might take some time to catch on, and they might have to iterate on the idea to attract more righty customers, so they don't simply pull the plug prematurely. Fingers crossed.

I just sold a pretty collectible pistol to a very close friend (Colt King Cobra stainless 4", for those wondering)...

And placed ORDER NUMBER TWO.

Please welcome the ever amazing Funk Wrench™ to the world.

Image

With this order I went pretty much "full modern" and got what amounts to be a current American Standard, only with a maple fingerboard, black pickguard and ash body... it has the modern neck with graphite reinforcement, high mass modern bridge, Custom Shop 60's pickups and modern ATA case.

Damn you, Fender.

DAMN YOU!!!

They're still treating us like shit. The basses you're buying are also offered to righties... without the 20-30% markup.
