I'm adding yet another old Ibanez to the herd, a nice Blazer. I think it's a BL800, and I'm picking her up tomorrow evening. It's not as pretty as the variety with natural lacquer and black pickguard that's also common, but it's in a very good condition and has the original case, which is quite uncommon. I'm very curious about this bass!

Hey Jeroen, did you happen to spot this :o

I've never seen a white lefty...EVER. One caveat though. That price is insane, even if it's Aussie dollars!

No, I hadn't! That price is indeed criminally insane (about 1550 USD), but WOW, what a bass

While browsing through the rest of that site, my attention was also drawn by this Rickenbacker-copy by Fernandes. Looks very authentic!

I pulled back from my deal for that Blazer. I suddenly started wondering: 'How often will I play this?' and it occurred to me it would probably just stand there and gather dust while my Jazz, Ric, Italia and ATK's get a lot of use. Secondly, I also managed to sell my G&L SB-2 yesterday, and I want to use that money to buy a new amp so I'd prefer to keep the money for the Blazer in my pockets right now.

As some of you may have seen already in the Southpaw Spotted-subforum, I have bought myself a Stingray 5 :). It won't be until October 24th when I'll actually be able to pick the bass up, when the band of the seller will be doing two gigs here in the Netherlands, but I thought I'd share because I think the finish looks amazing!

Congrats man, that bass looks great! Really nice finish. I really like the tone of the SR5 too.

Added an MC924L to the herd today, the one on the right. The left one is an '81, the right one is an '83 with bevelled body edges and different hardware and electronics. Managed to get it fairly cheap. The finish is in very poor shape (it took a beating or two) and the electronics don't work properly, but it plays sweet so I think it will be worth the effort to fix her up. I'll leave the finish the way it is, but the electronics will be restored.

Sorry for the poor pic, it was getting dark already so I had to use flash. The damage doesn't show in this pic.

Just won this on eBay, of which I plan to use the neck to create a plainer version of the Fender CS Lotto Telecaster Bass, for which I already have two Wide Range Humbuckers on order (the type used in the Squier Vintage Modified Precision TB):

My thoughts exactly, that's why I want one
But mine will have a regular maple Precision neck (the CS Lotto has a Jazz-shaped neck with a Tele headstock) without the blocks and bindings, and I'll probably go for a Warmoth '72 P-bass body (but with a pickguard like the one above, I do want to stay true to the idea of a bass with all the design elements of a '72 Tele Deluxe guitar).

As of now, the Stingray 5 has a black pickguard. And I think it looks a hell of a lot better 8-)

It definitely looks better with the black guard. It sets off the black dots on the neck as well. Good choice!

Well, call me contrarian, but i like the original guard. The black isn't bad, I just like the other one better!

A guy here in the Netherlands (a one hour drive away from me) offered it for sale, he had no time to play it anymore and it had just been laying around in its case for the past 3 years. Here's the link to the original ad:

http://link.marktplaats.nl/387513339

I paid 350 euros for it, with the original hardcase. It needed a setup and fresh strings very badly and one wire had to be resoldered to the jack (the preamp wasn't working), otherwise everything was fine. Wear and tear aren't unusual for a bass of this age. So I'm quite happy :)

Oh my! Just pulled the trigger on a Warwick Streamer LX 5-string. It's about 10 years old, original owner, and I'm unable to try it out before buying so it's a bit of a gamble. Never played one, so far I've only tried a regular Corvette 4-string and two Thumb NT5's that I really loved. But at this price, it's worth a try and if I don't like it I will have no trouble selling it again at the same price.

Beautiful transparent black lacquer finish instead of the more common oil finish, very nice touch! Not a fan of the gold hardware, but if this is a keeper, that's easily changed to black.

Really looking forward to its arrival, I can't wait to give it a try!
