Höfner Cavern Bass

Postby Matt R. » March 3rd, 2020, 10:28 am

Finally got the Hoffy I always wanted. Just sold my Euroburst (which I loved) to a board member, which helped me snag this '61 Reissue Cavern Bass.

Thanks Tim. I even like the looks of the pickup spacing. Ha.

Me too. Is that the primary difference from, say, a 500/1?

Well this is also a 500/1 but yep, other than some minor hardware and cosmetic differences, that’s the biggest difference. So far I like the tone better with pickup in the sweet spot.

Indeed. I’m grateful to have snagged a couple of those chickens lately.

Wow Matt, that’s one great looking bass! I’ve never really been a Hofner fan, but this one is the business, and has opened my eyes! Congrats!
