Hey Rod,

it's been over a month since you've last posted.... you must be spending long hours in the shop, filling all of those NAMM orders you got! Come up for air, and let us know how you are, and what you're working on!

Aloha,
Ian

Rod is in fact neck deep in bass builds. I heard from him a few days ago, his eyes briefly peeked from beneath the sawdust to say hi and then he went back to work.

I envisioned the same scenario.... lights down low, except over key machines, blood-shot eyes, and low-voiced mumblings about "deadlines, deadlines...... the end is in sight..." Rod, just wanted to know, and I'm sure I speak for the many here, we're thinkin' of ya! Thanks for letting us now Andrew.... ;)

swamped would be an understatement of thins after the NAMM Show in Jan, and my backlog is only growing (which is a good thing for the business, but that equates to longer wait times for customer making initial deposits)

I actually have a little breather this morning due to a shop upgrade that will start installing in an hour or so.

I'll have loads of new basses to show, including a new model (can you say 24 fret 4,5, and 6-string double-cut?!!) in June as they wrap up final assembly.

apologies for not being around more. thankfully it's due to my increased bass building work 8-)

all the best,

R

p.s. thought you might like a peek at a build I currently have underway. this is the first M-Series 35" scale 5-string with a 19mm bridge spacing. It's taken a load of work to get this production ready, and the re-engineering of the neck to get it feeling just like my 34" original as well as getting the trussrod to have an identical adjustment response ... this definitely was not a trivial task, and took about 100 hours of engineering and fab time longer than I had anticipated thanks to multiple proofing builds of both the body and neck.

I'm buried head-deep working to get my new models production ready to the place where I can build the initial units that will be joining me at the 2013 NAMM Show. time is quickly running out for what can be completed in time to make the show :o

I'll post new images when I get a breather

all the best,
