Hi My name is Pon. I'm from Thailand. Nice to meet you all. I'm going to play bass with lefty bass, but the problem is that I rarely find the lefty bass to buy in affordable price. If I want to buy a lefty bass,All I have to do is to make an import order with the manufacturer's authorized dealer. Unfortunately, some dealers ask me to order at least 6 or a dozen of lefty basses :shock: Finally, I found 2 brands that allow to order just only a lefty bass: Fender(Mexico) and Schecter. I've also found that the cheapest lefty model of Schecter is half-priced of the Fender!!!! The model is schecter stiletto deluxe-4. I'm going to make an order for a lefty deluxe-4 on Monday 25 Jan.

Many bass players who are my friends pointed out the disadvantages of playing lefties
1.There're few models and colors for me to choose. 2 brands 2 models 3 colors.
2.I have to carry my own bass every time I go with the band.
3.There's no substitute bass if my bass is broken. :?

As I've mentioned above, You'll see how hard to practice lefty bass in Thailand.
So I want to ask you the question.

Should I play flipped over RH bass?????

Hi Pon,
my opinion is you should play whichever way is most comfortable to you play.

When I first lerned how to play, I tried flipped over RH before I switched to conventional string setup. To me, it felt "right" right away once i switched.

Good luck with your Schecter. I think you're going to like it. In general, their quality control is more consistent than MIM Fender in my opinion.

How about playing RH flipped over with LH String Setup???
Does it make any differnces

I tried that also and found that the knobs and switches would always get in the way. Also you're subject to neck dive on many basses as the balance is totally incorrect.

I would not recommend playing a flipped right handed guitar with flipped strings. It does give you a lot more options bass-wise, but you still cannot use other people's basses! And in my opinion it is much more uncomfortable, since necks are not symmetrical, and neither are the basses' bodies in most cases. If you're going to flip, I would leave the strings as they are.

Moses, You're right. It seems to be more complicated if I play flipped bass with flipped string.

Rightnow, I'm trying to find a trans-blue lefty Thunderbird since It's my favorite shape.
