Sweet fancy Moses! That’s a heck of a list.

Yeah, that G&L is really nice looking. That Epiphone is kinda cool too, I like those chunky old bridges with the brass saddles.

That looks like the one that sold through Adirondack Guitar.
Here's the original link with specs, assuming it's the same bass.

That's a great price. I just wish they did wider string spacing. I think the JB5 is 17mm.

I had one of the D Laklin basses, great bass for the price, ask about weight as my bass was a little heavy.

If your not sure who D Lakin is, it's Dan Laklin who founded Lakeland Basses, after leaving the company he had a non compete for a few years then started to have basses made to his specification off shore. He then ran into health issues and could not continue this business venture. I think these basses originally sold for 1200-1500. Again check the weight and do some research on DLaklin but it's a great bass for the price.

$700 - D. LAKLIN RR003

A follow-up on this post...I was interested in the Lakin bass but felt something wasn't right, so I Googled 'lefty Lakin bass' and found that a guy in Illinois had one just like it that had been stolen. So I found him on FB and messaged him...it WAS his and I believe he got his bass back!

This is an update for anyone considering the G&L JB5 in "Daphne Blue" (Himalayan). I figure this will give you some bargaining points, since it needs work. (I think $999 is a good price for a used piece in excellent condition. This is not in excellent condition.)

This one arrived at my house last night and will be returned to GC on Monday. The previous owner put it through a lot, considering this thing can't be more than three years old.

Besides having a terrible set-up (the strings weren't trimmed, were wrapped bottom-to-top on the tuning posts and in double layers; the action was set at or above 10/64ths at the 12th fret), this thing was filthy.
I spent time cleaning the whole thing. There's still a stubborn black film on the underside of the neck (seems like it will scrub off).

The finish on the clover parts of the machine heads is hazy or tarnished. I had no luck fixing that.
The G-string machine head is damaged, probably from an impact (clover is loose from the shaft and rattles loudly while playing).
The B-string machine head seems a little inconsistent when tuning up.

The neck is lightly dented behind the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 8th frets; definitely noticeable, but not a distraction while playing.

There is some light scratching and a minor divot in the finish near the output jack, and there is heavy string rash immediately behind the bridge. There is a tiny scratch on the back of the body. Otherwise, the finish is in great shape.
One edge of the bridge has an abrasion.

Several pickguard screws, one pickup screw, the neck bolts and the strap button screws are all starting to rust.

I can't get the G-string any lower than 6/64ths at the 12th fret. It looks like the nut might not be filed low enough.

The pickups sound fantastic.
The neck is perfectly straight.
The fretwork is outstanding.
Setting the intonation is fine, even with the super worn and crusty D'Addario XLs that I trimmed and re-wound (they died a long time ago).

So, with one replacement machine head and a little work, this could be a winner, but I wouldn't pay more than about $600 for it.

Oh, and the case is in pretty good shape, besides the scuffing and minor tears one might expect from loading/unloading, stacking with loose drum hardware, etc. My guess is this thing was rode hard by someone with acidic body pH. The only real crime was the string installation.
