Is it a Tele bass or a 51 P-bass?
Looks like a rare piece! :)

Wish there were more photos. The neck looks more tapered than a tele/SCPB usually is but it could just be the angle/lighting.

I'm calling shenanigans. The control plate is upside down and the truss rod access should be at the heel of the neck. Parts bass all day long.

This is a righty one for reference. Matt you're right about the neck!

"Japan Custom Fender Telecaster Bass" could mean just about anything. Certainly doesn't appear to be any kind of factory issued lefty even if it is from Japan. The new pictures don't reveal much but good catch on the control plate.

Would probably run about $1300 to get it to the USA. Not for me.

Discription says Butterscotch body. Bass pictured is Fiesta Red. Besides the truss rod adjustment being wrong a 22 fret neck is not factory also. Pickguard shape is off in a number of areas and the screw locations are not correct. The thumb rest is not located in the correct location. As Matt pointed out a righty control plate. Pickup cover mounted at a slight angle. And thats what we can see from only 3 pictures. Is it a string through body and bridge? What type tuners? A made in or crafted in Japan would of course have the Made In Japan or Crafted in Japan decal and serial # at the back of the neck at the body joint. Without knowing the manufacturer of the individual parts hard to determine a value.

That bass, is a Bach- Czech made bass. I saw them on their site a few years ago. I remember thinking about the creative but WRONG mounting of the righty control plate. It kills the look for me.

Apparently, they have corrected this. Click the link... Nice looking bass.

Is this bass being misrepresented by the seller and is the price too high for a used Bach bass?

Misrepresented like crazy. Whatever this is, it isn't a Fender.

The Bach bass shows the model with 20 frets on the site, the one for sale has 21 frets!

I'm curious about the "Fender" headstock now. Does Fender offer an aftermarket Tele-bass style lefty neck? Or does somebody else offer a Tele-bass style lefty neck and the guy just applied a Fender decal? Could it be a Bach or other brand bass neck with the headstock re-shaped to look like a Fender? Whatever the answer it's clearly meant to deceive.

Maybe the seller even bought it thinking it was a Fender.
Or he knows it's not but still want to sell it as a Fender.
One of the two!

Fender doesn't offer that neck lefty. Just fake through and through.

I don't follow the used listings on Arni's site enough to know; would Arni want to know about this bass being not what it's implied to be? Does he care about that sort of thing?

Thumbs up to the LeftyBassist hawk eyes for once again calling attention to a questionable bass.

Good thought Andrew. Unless someone knows otherwise it probably wouldn't hurt to pass on the info and let him handle it as he sees fit..
