Pretty phat! 8-) Always love those Custom Shop necks.

But what about that shade (?) at the neck pocket?

Looks like it might be shimmed.

Is that an overhang fretboard too or is it just the angle of the shot/thumbrest making it look that way?

It's the pic. Neck looks proper.

Custom Shop!!

It's listed as 'new'. could Wilcutt have spec'd it that way with a shim? Were there issues with the original '59s that required a shim?

That'd have to be one gnarly ass shim to be visible at the neck joint. As impeccable as my two Custom Shop builds are, I'm guessing it's just some lighting trickery of some kind.

It'd be easy enough to just ask if anyone is truly interested... because that thing is just plain sex.

No shim. It's just the pic. Neck seats fine. Finish is chipping a little around the neck joint tho but its supposed to look aged.

That's a gorgeous bass with an ugly price tag.

@ J-meister,

I did contact the seller and there is no shim in that neck. My last comment above reflected the response and I saw pics of the neck pocket. It's fine, just a bit of paint chipping. That's some pretty high action. :| They don't accept PayPal payments.
