Seriously? $7500 for a 1975 J? They could have at least loosened the neck bolts and straightened the neck prior to the pics.

Skip that. Even if you straightened the neck on this bass, it's "one of those"
"stoner" build fenders from the 70's. They are hit and miss. I had a '74 J that looked like the router slipped twice at the bridge and it was also oversized.

The pickup poles will not be centered if you straighten this neck and actually, thats a tight neck pocket. Might not be able to move it much if at all..... Ouch!!

Did you also notice the weight?

11 lbs.

I know heavier basses were the norm back then, but... fuuuuuuuuuck that's heavy for a 4-string jazz bass.

My 74 is about 11lbs. Doesn't bother me.

And shitballs, that neck alignment stinks. :|

Yes, but you are young and fit and I am old and fat.

Seriously though... If I loved a bass enough I could deal with a weight like that, but 11 is probably as heavy as I could go.

Right now my 6 basses are almost identical in weight at about 9.5 lbs and that feels just about perfect.

$7500 for a '75?!!! Are they kidding? I have a '73 that I paid $2000 for about 6 years ago and it's in WAY better condition. I think I'm gonna contact CME (just for fun) and see what they offer me on my '73 Jazz bass. I'm really curious as to what price they would give me for it.

I called a few months ago about that bass and they told me that the price was mainly because of the rarity of the color. So, I found a black one (72-74) for 1/3 of that price and I'm happy about it. :-)

Wow! That's one of the worst neck angles I've seen... and it doesn't look like the neck pocket has any room for the neck to move in. Color or not, that bass will be a challenge to play at times, and unless it was owned by someone famous, a badly built bass is still a badly built bass! :(
