Nice! Don't know that much about Rics....any idea what the banding on the back of the neck comes from?

Man, that's one caustic guitar stand!

The finish on a Ric is something special too, they use a very specific finish type "because that's what we've always used" but it is very sensitive. When you have a Rickenbacker shipped to you, the box even says you shouldn't open it within the first 48 hours after its arrival, because you might damage it if the bass can't acclimatize slowly first. I waited 48 hours, but my 4003 still came out of the box with a strange crackle in the cutaways.

Damage to Ric finishes from certain guitar stands is well-known.

In the older Rick manuals that came with the instruments in the 1980s, they warn against using white instruments against clothing with color-fast dyes lest the colors bleed through. I had images of Bruce Foxton fans taking off their bass after a gig to find the mod target on their shirt now emblazoned on the back of the instrument or the Lonsdale logo written backwards like Silly Putty!

Well, regardless of the problems with the finish I kinda like that black on white vibe. That may be one of the coolest Ricks I've seen.

For those of you who don't know, or like me who has lost most of his 80's memories, this model was known as the "Tuxedo Bass"

I agree. I find the comments made here to be pretty well thought out.
