Folks, if this bass is stock then it's a 4001v63. Toaster and horseshoe PUPs, rosewood dot fretboard, mono output, etc. Very rare and definitely a steal at $2000. (Too bad it's not Fireglo, which would be my preference). The only thing I find questionable is the timeline. I thought Rick had discontinued the 4001V63 by 2003, replacing it with the V64. Or maybe it's a V64, but I thought those had the sanded down upper horn like McCartney's. :?: Either V63 or V64, you're getting an upscale Rick for less than a new stock 4003. Someone should jump on this.

It's a V63, there can be YEARS between when RIC stops taking new orders for an instrument and when the last one is actually produced.
A "C-Series" would have the reversed headstock.

Wow. I would instantly trade my 4003 for that if I could.

If:

a. It had the reversed headstock
b. Were anything but MG or JG
c. He would ship it

I'd get it. Not that I need another Rickenbacker.
