...with two very nasty dents in the 'Omega cutaway'. Was supposed to look like this:

Boy, that is a nasty break on the ends of the "omega" cut. The MJ in the serial number references a Mark King Standard model. I have a lefty MJ 4 string built in 1995 that I bought used several years ago from a store in Michigan. The model is generally a short scale. It is hard to tell from the pics if the scale is long or short. The Alembic web page does a great job of providing documentation on their basses if you have the serial number.

Auction title now changed from Series II to Signature Standard. The description still refers to a Series II though.

I like this description of how the wood went missing from the tips....

"THE 2 OPPOSING SIDES INNER WALLS HAVE BEEN CRACKED OFF DUE TO BEING PLACED ON THE FLOOR DURING PLAY"

... placed being the operative word here. Strap failure? Kicked off the stand? Still, it's a beautiful bass.

I'll never understand the logic behind why sellers do this. "I couldn't get $2,999 for it, so let me raise the asking price by 2 grand to entice anyone on the fence." Either he doesn't want to sell it or he's hoping somebody's smoking more crack than him.
