Boy, that is a nasty break on the ends of the "omega" cut. The MJ in the serial number references a Mark King Standard model. I have a lefty MJ 4 string built in 1995 that I bought used several years ago from a store in Michigan. The model is generally a short scale. It is hard to tell from the pics if the scale is long or short. The Alembic web page does a great job of providing documentation on their basses if you have the serial number.

Auction title now changed from Series II to Signature Standard. The description still refers to a Series II though.

I like this description of how the wood went missing from the tips....

I'll never understand the logic behind why sellers do this. "I couldn't get $2,999 for it, so let me raise the asking price by 2 grand to entice anyone on the fence." Either he doesn't want to sell it or he's hoping somebody's smoking more crack than him.
