Starting bid is a bit high, which might keep most away. I'm also not 100% sure that G&L was offering black hardware at this time. Still, I'd love to own one of these some day:

Nice, i've always wanterd one of these, but with a mahogany body. Seems a little overpriced to me

darnit pjmuck you had to post this - must fight GAS . . . They are great basses, I have a fretless 1k that I bought on e bay (think it was posted here too before I got it). I only paid a bit over $700 - but it's a fretless, and those are usually less for used ones. I do think the price is too high, but will one of you please buy it so I don't!

Just did a little checking - mine has an earlier serial # and has chrome bridge and plate. Check out this site for info

looks like they switched to black for '82 so this could be legit if it's later in '81. They also switched the pole piece design in this era - big hex, small hex, slotted - I can't keep all that straight.
