Buffalo Bros finally get what looks to be a decent lefty bass. Take that with a grain of salt, as I know squat about G&L's.

But I must admit I love the way they photograph instruments!

So, is this a good bass sonically? Does it deliver classic Jazz bass tones, or is it in a category by itself? Is it active or passive? Don't have time to research this on the web, so any opinions would be appreciated.
Fianally how's the price? I'm willing to bet it's a bit on the high side as BBros has a 100% trade in value when you upgrade your guitars through them, which naturally causes their overhead to be higher than usual.

This is your regular passive Jazz Bass, but better than any new Fender in the same price range in terms of feel and playability. This one indeed isn't exactly cheap, you can get one brand new (be it without the matching headstock and the flamed maple top) for the same money.

leo fender always refered to the G&l instruments as the instruments he wished he could have made at fender, all of the g&l instruments are basically improvements to all his earlier designs so with that being said its just what its named a jazz bass 2 and personally i think its a great sequal i dont know how to describe the ones ive played all i can say is they out jazz bass a jazz bass
