Weirdly, I bought a 1993 Custom Shop Jazz in 2001 and it turned out to be a bit of a lemon. It was in fine shape when I bought it apart from body dings. First the electronics went (each pot volume pot about two months apart) and then the neck about a year later. It ended up being the foundation for a Frankenbass. Only the body, bridge, and tuners are left from the original. Strange.
