Just as a side note to everyone, who is interested in.
I talked to the seller, the bass was sold to US for 4500 AUD plus shipping (3250 USD)
I would never thought someone is paying such an amount for a Musicmaster Student Bass, but seems the vintage market is going crazy these days...

For a refinish?! I give up. It used to be in times of economic crisis your safest bet was investing in gold. Now, despite people being out of work for a year+, they’re throwing their $ at instruments. And the market seems to be bearing the increases too. Unemployment compensation put to it’s finest use. ;)

Resale value on old Fenders seems to be a law of economics onto itself. How much will the $400 Squier short scale bass be selling for in 40 years? This is the 1970s equivalent after all.

I don't think it was a refin, Musicmasters were offered in daphne blue originally (although on the Musicmaster it was just called "blue"). I've never seen another lefty in that finish though.

All that checking is gorgeous, but I'd be nervous that it would just start falling off pieces over time...
