I used to have a right-handed 1968 EBO. I simply played it upside down 8-)

Anyone has a clue what these Gibson are worth?
Above one is sold and the one on Reverb is far away from a realistic market price.

I researched that only for 2 weeks a year Gibson was producing leftys, that results in a very rare amount of leftys existing:

Lefties Eb-0 produced in the 70s:
1971(25 basses)
1972(4 basses)
1973(1 bass)
1976(2 basses)
1977(4 basses)
1978(3 basses)
1979(2 basses)

For the 60s, no records are existing

I bought a righty Epiphone EB-0 type. What a great sounding bass. I had a lefty nut put on. It sounds very close to the 70s Gibson basses I've heard, but I can't imagine how great a Gibson EB-0 would be, especially if a feller found a lefty and could spill out the necessary coin.

Interesting your research shows no EB-O's being made in the '60's, and there suddenly appears to be two listed for sale from 1969...

In looking at the pictures from the Reverb offering, have noticed a couple of things I wonder about... first, as a finish carpenter, I see a neck joint just in front of the strap button, and a circular ring, that suggests a possible dowel inserted for strength?... and second, in the Pot cavity - why is there a cut piece of paper, with multiple holes in it? Anyone have a clue as to my questions?

Hi
The lefty 70s production research comes from the book
Gibson Shipment Totals, 1937-1979
The book does not mention any record from the 60s.
Also the 70s records seem not to be 100% complete as I am owning a 1974 lefty which is not in the records :-)
According the questions on the reverb pictures:
The neck joint is original as very similar on my 1974
The strange piece of paper seems only been put on to hold away the grounding wire from the pickup wire, normally these 2 wires should not cross, but hey these were the 60s:-)

It's a brass shield in the pot cavity with pre stamped holes for other pot and switch positions for other models. The round spot by the neck/body seam is a shadow from the strap button. The two pictures of the bass lying face down in the case does look as you describe. About 4 or 5 pics later shows the bass in the case on it's edge and the spot is in a different position and clearly a shadow. Hope that helps.
