My new Pet Peeve is when a right handed bass player takes a left handed bass and puts a button or strap lock on the bass. They have so many choices and yet they take a left handed bass. GGGGRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr

Especially a Ric. With all the knobs and the switch right in the way and the tiny bottom horn. Almost he worst bass you could ever pick to play upside down.

There was a fella on TB who claimed to own about 25 Rics and had 3 lefties in his collection that he played flipped. It’s like WHY???? Play the other 22 righties and let some lefties enjoy those Rics.

Anyway this is a good rare opportunity. Don’t see vintage Rics on NR very often.

It should be a criminal offense.
Also when you see a bass and say “I hope they do a lefty model”, and someone chimes in with a “just flip it, Jimi style!”...

Ha ha. I've heard that so many times. I wish I had a lefty copy of the right handed Telecaster bass I played in the 70s. The upper cutaway, now at the bottom, made it impossible to play past the 10th fret (if I remember correctly). In any case, the most uncomfortable thing to play when flipped.

30 seconds on one and poor little righties would never again tell us to "just flip it."

I have a Warwick Thumb NT 5 with a screw hole in that tiny lower horn from some righty that couldn't be bothered to choose from the sea of right handed basses. Can you imagine trying to play a thumb NT5 upside down?

Ha ha, my only 4001 I played for years as my main bass was a righty with an extra strap button - locking type essential. I still have it and I've never got around to buying a left-handed one. To be honest, back then I never thought it was possible to get a long-scale bass that was self-balancing so just got on with using it.
