The seller doesn’t want to sell/ship the bass without me trying it out first so as to not have to deal with any returns in the event that I’m not happy with it. I do appreciate him for that. Anyway, anyone in California, you may want to check it out. Looks like a pretty cool bass.

After some communication and the seller graciously sending me a lot of additional pics (and very detailed ones at that) the seller agreed to sell it to me. As it turns out based upon the serial numbers on the neck and pots, it’s actually a 1975 P bass.

I figured it was a 75 or earlier based on the logo. Congrats Tom, looks like a cool one.

Fantastic deal, and I wouldn't be surprised if that neck was older than '75. Looks to be a B neck, which is my all time favorite P bass neck. Major score! :)

Glad that worked out for you.

That's how it went with my P-bass c'list buy. Seller initially refused to ship, but after a few nice conversations via telephone, the bass was on its way.

You got a great deal, too. Enjoy.
