I wonder if this is legit or not since I have 0 experience with Custom Shop Fenders.
Usually the CS logo is in the back of the headstock but maybe older ones where different.
Much easier to get a fake neck plate as well.
This doesn't seem to have any paperwork to prove but maybe the serial number could.
It's also in a way too good shape to be from 1992 as mentioned by the seller but who knows?
Description from the seller: Fender custom shop 1961 reissue jazz bass. Sherwood green metallic, maple neck, rosewood fret board, white pick guard and stack pot controls. The instrument is in near mint condition and comes with a hard case. All electronics work properly awesome sounding and playing jazz bass, gets the looks super rare in lefty. This is an early custom shop model 1992 if memory serves. Very high quality. Glad to answer any questions. Good luck!!!!!

Looks like a flat sawn neck too. And that decal isn’t right either. I dunno about this one.

I had thought that around this time, Fender used an oval cattle
style brand on the back of the headstock, much like this. Matt,
you are right about the logo, the Custom shop would have also
used a period correct logo.
Wasn't this body color available from the MIM Standard lefty jazz
bass as well?

My thoughts exactly. I think it's a parts bass with a MIM body and a later MIA neck.

That decal looks like the style from a 1950’s P bass :ugeek:

The MIM color was Sage Green, a little brighter however they may have made this color as well but I don't remember seeing it but agree looks like a parts bass and yes contact Fender and they can tell you if this was Custom Shop or not.

Do you think it should be reported? It's not too late.
