MIM jazz neck tuners.

I bought a MIM lefty jazz neck from the Fender Amazon site. I was going to use the tuners off of a fretless warmoth neck I have laying around. I discovered that the Schallers I was using have a different bolt pattern (smaller spacing between the screw holes) from what MIM neck is predrilled for. Can ...

Colin also owns a real Triple Omega that you see for sale every once in awhile. I'm kinda surprised he is not a member here.

Re: 1980 Musician Sabre bass

Man I had 2 of these back in the late 70's. The necks were problematic, The frets love rise up out of neck when they got warm. I finally gave up on them after the Budwieser battle of the bands tour in 80.
fwiw I replaced them with a natural Gibson ripper and a pbass that I still own. I mourn the ...

Not sure this one has been up here. The bass looks pristine and Gruhn has a pretty stellar reputation.

Re: Do you play acoustic guitar?

Yes I do. My go to is a Is a Gibson SJ 200 Montana vintage tint. Stupidly expensive and without a doubt the finest musical instrument I have ever owned. Plays like buttah. Bought it from Sweetwater the sales guys name was Damon (a lefty) played all 3 they had at the time and gave me his opinion.
I ...

You should put a price in the ad. The mods will delete it eventually without one. Beautiful instrument btw.

Ultimate Bass comparison video

Hyperbole aside this is a really cool chance hear some really great sounding basses played by a great player one right after another. The Hofner 500/1 relic has that sound. I have owned a few and never found one that had that tone.

Re: 2013 Gibson Les Paul Bass

Pretty typical for Japanese listings.
Pretty funny the price is all over the place. The one instrument they have that I have never seen lefty is a Les Paul Triumph bass. I worked at a studio in the 70's that he other 1st call bassist played one.
It weighed a ton but was dead silent and had a ...

Carvin/Kiesel Basses

I realize there may be a couple of Carvin threads already (for some reason the search function keeps throwing a 404 error for me). My question is this, has anyone purchased an Icon series bass in the last 18 months? I have been considering dumping my entire Leo Fender collection and trying something ...

Re: Fender AmPro Precision

Something about P Basses, though, I just find difficult to control and play. I suspect it's a combination of the PUP placement, my technique as it relates to playing P basses, etc. I find them prone to, "clickety clacketyness" (strings slapping against fretboard/frets is as audible as notes ...

I have the 5 string version of this bass and really play the crap out of it. Got it from someone on here. Really well made instruments for the money.

Re: Jazz Bass Deluxe $600

Matt, I had one of the older ones from the late 90's early 2000, it had those Noiseless pickups. Indeed the electronics was horrendous. Probably the worst I have ever heard actually, it was harsh sounding in the highs with muddy lows. I ditched all the electronics and put some Lindy's in it and it ...

At least I think there's a guitar there. Can't see much but a neck and some strings.
I have bought a few instruments from them and it has always a great experience. This seems like a pretty good deal.

Re: Lefthanded maple Jazz neck ordering

There's always Warmoth or USACG

Yeah I think I kinda dig the Warmoth Roasted Maple neck. So I did ask Fender about how I would replace a Maple neck on an older JBass (I have a few) and they said they would get back to me. The fender people were really nice and seemed to actually care. I just ...
