ah thanks man.
yeah it isn't all that prominent cos it was outside so it kinda disappears a bit... bass plays awesomely though!

thanks everyone for your advice on this. looks like i'm gonna go for the SD or the Nordy pre then. I've had a chance to use the new bass in anger at serious volumes and i think i'm gonna have to swap the warman pup out for something a little higher end. it's almost too powerful, causes some clipping ...

that's great to know! i just got my cheapy 'Maestro' Chinese MM copy back from my luthier guy, he sorted the nut, fret ends, changed the pickup out for a Warman and put in a cheap Chinese 'ebay special' preamp in it.
it plays great now but the only improvement he said would be the pre, apparently ...
