Re: Which pre for a MM Stingray copy? SD, East or SGD?

thanks everyone for your advice on this. looks like i'm gonna go for the SD or the Nordy pre then. I've had a chance to use the new bass in anger at serious volumes and i think i'm gonna have to swap the warman pup out for something a little higher end. it's almost too powerful, causes some clipping ...

Re: Seymour Duncan STC-3M3 Wanted

that's great to know! i just got my cheapy 'Maestro' Chinese MM copy back from my luthier guy, he sorted the nut, fret ends, changed the pickup out for a Warman and put in a cheap Chinese 'ebay special' preamp in it.

it plays great now but the only improvement he said would be the pre, apparently ...

Seymour Duncan STC-3M3 Wanted

Hey peoples!

Just wondered if anyone had a used Seymour Duncan STC-3M3 3 knob Music Man preamp hanging around that they may want to sell?

Give me a shout if so!

Cheers,

Jamie

Re: Considerations for lefties getting five string basses

hi people! i'm new here but i thought i'd chime in with my experience...
i went from 4 to 6 strings when my dad picked up a Brice 406HXB in a pawn shop in Arizona for $140. i was using a Vintage Stingray copy (cheap British brand, probably comparable to SX), but i had replaced the pup with a Duncan ...
