Re: Sweet looking Used USA Fender P with Maple Board at GC

I have an '83 and that's pretty much what they look like, odd screw, one ply pickguard and all. It's not my favorite instrument. Mine cost $625 back around '06, I've seen them offered for much more since. I don't think I'd give more than $625 to be honest.

Re: 77 Fender P Bass on the Bay

I think adding the J pickup detracts from its value. Also anything late 70's to early 80's can be something of a crapshoot because of the weight; I have a '77 that's a little heavier than my other instruments but sounds great and is comfortable; I once had a '78 that was so heavy it wasn't even good ...

Re: MIJ P-Bass

I bought one in '04 from Ishibashi and it's a good player, though I did a few things to it; I put a gold anodized guard on it and a Duncan 1/4 pound pickup and LaBella flats. It looks like James Jemerson's "Black Beauty" 57. Nice thick neck, decent weight, no complaints!

Re: Your First Bass?

My first bass was an EB-3 copy (believe it was a Kay bass but can't remember), purchased in the late 70's along with a Peavey amp. Sold all my gear to raise money for college; when I finished school I looked for "real" lefty but was not successful; I was was out of music for a number of years until ...

Re: Someone please buy this before i do

got the bass last night its awsome it has it fair share or factory and wear flawes but the main thing that matters is that it plays like butter so smooth the neck is almost identical to my 1975 Fender P-Bass and sound wise omg it blows any stock MIA standard out of the water imho overall an amazing ...

Re: Someone please buy this before i do

yeah everyone says that theese are great basses that blow the mia standards away the the one problem people have been stating is that they have a smaller neck comparable to a jazz neck rather then a p bass neck

The neck is 1 5/8" at the nut (B neck) and feels very much like my '71 (a C neck ...

Re: A tad bit over priced ?

I would say so. By the way; isn't it interesting that these sellers almost always use the words "rare", or "very hard to find", to describe a left handed bass? Either they're stupid, think we lefties are stupid, or they haven't seen my facebook page!

Re: Do you have a top 5 favorite bass players list ?

I don't think I could do a top 5; there's just too many I respect and admire. If I went with those that I liked early on I'd go:
1) James Jamerson
2) Donald 'Duck" Dunn"
3) Billy Cox
4) Dave Brown
5) Glenn Cornick

If I moved on to those that came later I'd have a top 20 list at the minimum; among ...

I like Jim Dunlop Big Stubbies, 1.0 mm, sometimes 2.0. They give me the sustain I need and I love the grip in the center. They work for me!

Re: is it ok to play with a pick ?

Some wipeass actually told you that? The man is a complete waste of oxygen! Tell him to say that to Chris Squire, let's see where he winds up (of course Chris Squire is a large strapping guy, so he may just kick the moron's ass; I'd PAY to watch that!). Though I tend to play fingerstyle most of the ...

You may want to contact Adirondack Guitars in upstate New York. They have a very good selection of left handed instruments, and they were selling Warwick Rock Basses when I visited there in 2005. Good luck.
